Our Project

Our Project

Curious students with a shared vision, we strive to bridge cultures and disciplines. Together, we believe diversity is not a challenge, but the spark for impactful innovation.

Focus India

Focus India is a flagship project within the bachelor degree program of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW). Organised by students for students in their final year, it allows them to apply and enhance the skills learned in school. Through the close collaboration with industrial partners, Focus India will be in its 21st consecutive successful year.

Who are we?
Our Mission

Curious students with a shared vision, we strive to bridge cultures and disciplines. Together, we believe diversity is not a challenge, but the spark for impactful innovation.

Our project team consists of six ambitious students dedicated to providing our delegation with the opportunity to immerse themselves in India's vast and dynamic market and experience its rich, colourful culture. Taking a hands-on approach, we will learn from each other, guest speakers, partners, and Swiss and Indian organisations. We aim to learn how to foster innovation and collaboration, promote sustainability, and empower different generations to create a purpose-driven, future-ready society.

What is our Impact?
Our Vision

Focus India 2025/26 brings together Swiss and Indian perspectives to explore how cultural diversity drives meaningful innovation. Through seminars, company visits, and collaboration with changemakers, we foster dialogue that connects heritage with forward-thinking ideas. By bridging cultures and disciplines, we aim to understand how real change emerges not just from technology, but through people, vision, and shared experience.

What is it about?
Our Project

Focus India 2025/26 is built on the theme Mosaic of Minds: Changemakers Shaping Impactful Innovation. Our project explores how the cultural exchange between Switzerland and India creates value beyond borders. At its heart are people, their ideas, curiosity, and willingness to learn from one another. This year’s theme demonstrates that meaningful change emerges not only from technology, but from people working across borders with vision and inventiveness.
