In the last week of the semester, the project team invited the 2018 Delegation to the Kick-off meeting of the 13th edition of Focus India – a long awaited moment for everyone. The evening was a big success, dominated by excitement and great first encounters among the delegation members.
The project team – Luca, Samira, Valentin and Amanda – welcomed the delegation, including accompanying lectures, at the FHNW campus in Olten. To “kick off” the evening, everyone introduced themselves and talked about the reasons why they joined Focus India; India’s exciting economy, an unknown culture and the appealing topic were often named as decisive factors.
In a presentation, the project team walked the delegates through the goals and milestones of Focus India 2018. Speakers at the preparatory-seminar and the destinations of the on-site-seminar (Delhi, Bangalore, Pune and Mumbai) were probably the most anticipated points here. A murmur went through the crowd when Samira revealed that the delegation will have the honour to listen to Federal Council Doris Leuthard during the preparatory-seminar in February.
Moreover, the delegation was especially impressed by this year’s range of supportive and prestigious project partners:
Next to our Main partner Accenture, Platinum partner SULZER and the Joint partner Blaser Swisslube, which have been with the project for many years, five new companies could be announced on board of the project (see complete list of partners on the right).
Luca introduced the delegation members to the topic of Focus India 2018: “think DIGITALLY. act SMART. succeed GLOBALLY”. To learn more about the main focus of this year’s edition, click here.
To conclude the formal part of the evening, the delegates engaged in a fun Speed-Dating, where they had to chance to get to know each other within a couple of minutes. First interesting talks could afterwards be followed up during the apéro. Aggarwal AG provided for a delicious Indian catering which got everyone excited for the food onsite. Big thanks also go to Müller Bräu, who kindly sponsored the beer for the evening.
The project team is thrilled to have met a highly motivated and diverse delegation and is looking forward to the preparatory seminar in February. However, before that, the project team will embark on a preparatory trip to India this month.
